Now that your detective teams are set up, it's time to search for answers. Links to information about Poe's life, Poe's detective stories, and the detective genre are listed below.
Research your portion of the project, and report your findings to your group members. Your goal is to create one Power Point presentation. In is presentation, you should address the following questions:
What were the main aspects of Poe's first detective stories that made them detective stories?
What parts of Poe's life might have had influence his detective stories?
How have latter detective stories changed or remained the same from Poe's tales?
Why has this genre remained popular?
Did Poe's detective novels have a moral lesson?
Work together to figure out what "clues" you find are the most important to the detective story genre. As your group decides on the answers to these questions, be sure to include in your presentation evidence to support your answer.
